Carmalitha Gumbs is a member of the South Fulton City Council. Throughout the pandemic, Gumbs worked to make sure seniors had access to food and other supplies while sheltering in place. The winner of multiple awards and a frequent featured guest speaker, Gumbs was recognized by State Rep. Sharon Beasley-Teague for her outstanding public service and her role in ensuring the welfare of the citizens of Georgia.
Not only does Carmalitha serve as your Councilwoman in the crown jewel of South Fulton, District 2, but she has also been fighting the good fight in the private sector for over two decades, ensuring health equity for seniors. As a healthcare industry leader, Carmalitha is dedicated to increasing access to quality healthcare for our most vulnerable populations. During her tenure, she has successfully launched many wellness programs for Metro Atlanta area seniors, including pop-up dental clinics, salons, farmers markets, and more recently, access to the COVID-19 vaccines and necessary community services surrounding the pandemic.
In her line of work, I take pride in successfully helping metro area seniors take more ownership over their health, prioritize prevention, and choose a deeper commitment to their wellness.
A dedicated public servant and advocate for South Fulton residents, Gumbs has consistently championed economic growth, public safety, and quality-of-life improvements. She believes the city must continue its positive momentum while making government more open and accessible to the people it serves.
The proud mother of a future medical-school daughter, Gumbs is a marketing professional who has spent years in the health and wellness industry.
